Default Gearbox replacement

After my local garage replaced my automatic gearbox it is in "limp mode" would it certainly need to go to a chrysler dealer to have the ecu reflashed to take the new gearbox? or does it sound like gearbox trouble again even though its a replacment?

any help welcome

IMHO, if your mechanic changed the tranny he should either pay for the relearn or have it done himself.
