Default problem with the sunroof

You know when you open your sunroof and everything is all fine and dandy? lol Well when you open mine that black plastic part, that I am assuming is supposed to stay down (it is like what the sunroof itself glides over) mine doesn't stay down it pops up, it has unhooked a few times while driving on the passengers side if the drivers side didn't stay hooked it would of flew off.

I gave up and just kept my sunroof closed, but anyone know why it would do that or how to fix it? Thanks

Pictures would be great.
Im probably one of the only people here that has fixed their sunroof personally, so if you show me a picture i can for sure tell you whats up.
Worst case scenario , you have to buy the replacement parts , which runs 119$
Sounds like one of the arms came loose, or broke. But of course, cant be sure without seeing it

Quite sure the rails are screwed in - seems you lost one or more. In the interim, you could use the Pop-up feature.

Well, if the pop up feature still works that would at least show you that the parts are working. They all move with each other weather your opening it all the way, or just popping it up

The more I read this the more this part sounds like the hinged piece that pops up when you open the moon roof that is, I think, supposed to damper wind noise at highway speeds. Not the actual rails the window slides back and forth on.

Again, pictures of what your actually talking about would be great.

The thing that popps up is actually attached to the rail and is just to cover it, not to block wind. The sunroof would work perfectly fine without it.
The whole assembly only has 3 parts for each side. Has to be one of those.
