Default Repair Questions: (3 )

Ok My NA PT has 86k miles(runs great) ok I keep up with it.(1)I put platinum plugs & wires in at 42k( how long can I expect?)(2) I changed tranny fluid & filter at 36K when again?(3) Timing belt when? most say 105k? All these items are expensive but needed so any recomendations are appreciated. MJB

1) I put platinum plugs and performance wires in mine at 50K and I looked at them at 100K and they still look good. I'm going to keep on going till I feel some hesitation, ruff idle or cranking just a bit too long to start.

2) Did you do a flush or just a change of about 4-5 qts by dropping the pan? If just a 4-5 qt change, I'd do it again now.

3) Do the timing belt, tensioner and water pump at around 100K. If the serpentine and alternator belt haven't been done yet, do those also. Small additional price and they need to come off anyway.

Agree (as usual) with Crewzin.
Depends on what wires you got - the plugs will be fine.
I say flush the auto every 50,000 miles.

Thanks again.. can the wires on a non-turbo be changed without removing intake?? I know plugs cant ( I forget) Going to get trans fluid done again. MJB

Nope, must undo manifold, that is why we suggest doing both at one time.

Here i am again...sorry for the late reply...I agree on hooligan. but you also have to work with the tensioner and the timing belt..much better with a water pump at around 100k...check this one: Information on the Chrysler PT Cruiser
