ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha,etc., etc. This is a joke right! Not the forty some mpg, but that you ACTUALLY think that is the proper way to get mileage results. Again, this IS a joke right!

Actualy I am serious I've worked on cars sence I was 14 but I usujaly take a full tank beffore I calc my mpg. Why wouldn't it work if the mpg is fconstant based on driving?

Also that's a fairly condesending responce don't you think. Not the best way to keep new members

You need to run out more than 1 gallon before calculating mileage.I usually run mine down between a quarter and a half tank to get a more accurate figure. And by the way, congrats on the new car.

Best you should be able to get is 24mpg under ideal conditions. I would wonder if you had a small airlock and did not get the tank, or filler hose to the tank, filled as high when you refilled. Epa on a Honda Civic hybrid is only 45mpg highway.

Edit: you should toss a pic of your ride in your gallery for us to ogle! Tons of PT's in my area but don't see many convertibles around

I too have been doing the "fill to the top" and drive and refill method (but Im keeping long term track) and not going to figure it to much till I get 2-5000 miles. BUT.. very rough estimates show at 70 MPH On a couple fo 200+ mile trips I am getting close to 30.. which really blows me away after reading what to expect on the net (and here) I was really just hoping for 25 MAX.. so right now, even if IM off (I'm sure I am) it shouldnt be more than a few MPG.. so I'm doing good.

Now I wish i could say in town driving is good.. but sadly My Town & Country MINIVAN with 200,000 miles is doing almost the same.. about 16ish

But I do have to say.. I'm getting real mixed resaults with the In town stuff.. I have got (by gauge and fill to top method) 66 miles (in town) on a 1/4 tank, and 90 miles. 30 miles is a HUGE swing, and yes 1/4 tank will be 4 gallons or 6 gallons sometimes, the "air bubble" or? no idea.. but I cant put in anything close to the same amount when going by the guage.

So ya, its pretty hard to gauge without some real miles and fills. My 30MPG has held up on 3 trips of 200+ miles.. so I'm feelings its in the area (at 70MPH on the dot). But only many more trips will tell.
