Default Oh no Eve is sick!!!

Ok so on my way home from work this morning, driving on the highway, just when i was about to exit she started to stumble. i would step on the gas and she would hesitate. I finally made it home, got my haynes manual and then did the key dance. She gave me a P340, so i looked it up. It said that the camshaft position sensor wasnt, uh, i guess talking to the cpu or something. so i disconnected the battery and checked the sensor. Everything seemed fine so i put everything back together. i turned her back on and the engine light was gone. Do you think i should replace the sensor anyways or what?

Just looking at it won't tell you if it's malfunctioning or about to malfunction but since it's running good now and the engine light isn't on, I'd wait to see if it was only a one time glitch. Just keep in mind, if the Camshaft sensor does go out altogether, your stranded. Ask me how I know.

I would go ahead and change the sensor so you will know it's not going to leave you stranded. The sensor is cheaper than a towing bill.

Remember to use OEM not aftermarket.

Shop around at different dealers, the two near me had a huge difference in price. The dealer I got it from was 30 something bucks and the other one was 60ish.

ok so yesterday she threw the same code after she started stuttering. so today i went to my local dealership and got a camshaft position sensor, i was able to install it like in 3 minutes. maybe i should've done a how to, oh well. hope fully this fixes it but if not i might have to get her brain checked out.

Yeah it's a easy fix. What did the dealer charge you? Is Eve happy again?

like $60+ but there the only one's that are close, and if she's throwing tho's codes at me, i don't want to be stuck half way to another dealer, especially seeing the other dealer is like 40min's away from my house.
But she seems to be doing fine but i'll find out in a week or so. That's how long it took for her to start doing it again. but i think she's happy, hell i gave some more of her xmas presents today
