Default Plug Wires???

I few month ago I changes plugs & wires to my wife PT, the MPG's at that time was 18 mpg's after new plugs and wires I've been havings worst mpg's between 14-17, the Autolite platinum AP5263 has been terrible plugs for me (check preview post).

I'm planning to change plugs tomorrow for the originals Champion RE16MC and check if Autolite Wires 97060 installed to check if has less resistance than the stocks wires I measure with:

Wire #1: 2,550 Ohms
Wire #2: 2,630 Ohms
Wire #3: 2,620 Ohms
Wire #4: 2,440 Ohms

Does anyone has been checking resistance of wires?

Or a Set of wires that bring me low resistance to get more power and get better economy because gas price is killing me.

Thank you guys

BINGO! Best damn plug wires you will find. Those stock wires just suck beyond belief. Mine didn't last 20k miles.

Why people always said after-markers Wires are better than stock?

I took away one after-maker wire I install Autolite and the resistance is higher than the stock

Autolite wire: 3,080 Ohms

That means less Voltage thru the wires.

I will go back with stock or try to find a better ones.

I need a LINK where I can find a good set of wires.

Thanks,

Because time and time for years on end, owners come to the site with ignition problems with as little as 20k on the odometer. They tell us that they changed the plugs and still have a problem. We tell them to change the wires and 99% of the time, the ignition problem goes away. That's why we say the stock wires suck.

You can measure resistance all you want but the truth is, the PT doesn't need a high performance low resistance wire. Just a decent wire that will carry the spark.

My first set change was to the MOPAR Blue Performance wires off eBay and did 40K+ without a problem. Next set was at 50K+ and they are the Granatelli wires with Double Platinum Champions and I plan to leave them on for a long time to come.

Thanks CREWZIN I already read that article, that was the reason to measure the resistance of wires.

I check MPG's today and was 16.2 mpg City (That is an Full Size SUV mileage).

I looked under 00-10 PT Cruiser but the wires available there said:

Granatelli Spark Plug Wires 03-05 Neon SRT

These wires will fit well in a NA PT?
