I have a 2006 5 spd NVT manual transmission and need to replace the shifter bushings. Does anyone have a drawing of how to get to the bushings on the shifter?
Thanks in advance.

Just Google (PT Cruiser booger bushings) and you should find some pic and info...

Ok I found a web site with a few pics and they sell the booger bushings too.

PTCrew.com has an entire section devoted to modifications, and there is a long set of instructions on booger bushings. They wrote a tutorial on the '05 and earlier models and I wrote one on the '06 and up, but mine includes only the bushings on the tranny. Either one will help you on your way, both are photo heavy.
The dude that makes the booger bushings is a frequent visitor to that site, you can pm him directly. He's very helpful. |

I agree, my bushings looked good, they only had about 19k miles on them, but I went ahead, as the guys and gals over there told me to do, and replaced them. OMG what a difference that made in my shifting! I had planned on getting an STS before that, now there's no reason to. Got the boogers installed, then added a custom shifter knob, now I have no need for an STS.

From what I see on the booger bushing page it is just the bushings..what holds them in? I okie rigged mine temporarily with pcv boots and washer and a clip. Do the kits come with oem style washer and bushing or ??? Thanks for any help ... Art Speegle

So even though the top of the pin is indented for a clip, awasher and clip is not necessary to hold them in...when I went to the order section it shows 3 + 1...what does that mean,,?? any idea... want to get it done so that my okie rig does not fail on me on the road... Thanks
