Default Throttle Body Spacer

What are your opinions about a Throttle Body Spacer

Example: http://www.revelenterprises.com/pt_cruiser_poweraid.htm

Do you think these devices work as advertised? Is it a good buy to upgrade performance on a N/A PT? [:I]

Here's just a couple of threads from PTE regarding the spacer. Please read them before you put your money out.

The only place spacers work (and just barely) is on high-rise intakes like found in NASCAR...

Spacer, no. A bored out throttle body with breathing improvements (cam, porting, etc), yes.

I'm in agreement with the lack of hp increases with a throttle body spacer on a PT but I purchased one anyways just to see for myself. I thought maybe, there might have been a slight increase in low rpm/torque but not certain. I did like the occasional whistling noise that made the engine sound like it could have had a supercharger installed. Also, I thought I got a little better mpg but can't say for certain because I did other mods at the same time, i.e., header, dual exhaust, air intake. My throttle body spacer is for sale, see: Helix Throttle body in the Classifieds section of this forum.

No hp gain from Powerade TB spacer after install on '01 automatic PT. Did get 3 mpg more after documenting mpg before and after install. Felt it was worth it for mpg gain.

Anyone else experience improved gas mileage with the spacer?
