Question Just cant figure it out (randomly dying as i drive)

I have an 02 limited manual and for some reason it just want to die. I will be driving usually between 1-45 mph and i will lose power and the engine dies, if im not on the clutch some times it will turn it self back over and others times it wont. i have to pull off the road (if im not stuck at a light) and try to get it to turn over, some times it will turn over after a few seconds other times it takes a few minutes. I have got a New batter, new battery terminals, new plugs, alternator is good.

Someone i was talking to had this same issue on another vehicle and they said it was some wires that ran from the computer were frayed?!?!?

Any one have any ideas?

Try to movethe battery cables - if you can move them, they aren't tight enough.

Yes new wires as well and the battery wires are tight no wiggle. When it die its hard to tell some times the radio stays on and so does the air. Its just no power steering and such.

How about other ends of battery cables? You have a bad connection somewhere.
Do you have a lot of extra junk on with your keys? Might be ignition switch...

No just a few key on the chain maybe 5. I had to have the old switch removed about a year ago and a new one add because it locked up. And the other end of the battery cable seems fine.

Crankshaft Position Sensor - No sensor signal, the engine quits. Variable time to restart--possible poor connection between wiring harness and sensor.

Did you wash your engine compartment lately?

Let us know what you find for a solution to this issue.

I hope you mean the CRANKshaft sensor or I'll have to let my friends over at the sub-station know your dealin.

Good catch BlueH20 but I guess being a Chrysler Service Manager for 8 years you sort of know a lot of the symptoms.
