Default P325 and P440

Hello forum,

I recently picked up a 2003 PT Cruiser and I have been driving it without issue for about six weeks. Three days ago, as I started teh car up earlly in the morning, my engine light came on. I did some on-line research and found out how to get the codes myself . I got the following two codes P325 and P440.

325 Knock sensor (#1) signal is wrong.
440 Evaporative emissions system leak (that's the gas tank fuel vapor recovery system) - usually a loose or bad gas cap.

I understand the P440 error, because i had just gotten gas the day before and I felt like the gas cap did not close correctly. I took off the cap and reapplied it. And now I am wondering

1) Was the P440 code causing the P325 code as well, or do I have a larger issue at hand?
2) How long before the P440 code goes away?

Any help would be much appreciated.

wldcard, take the negative cable off for about 10-15 minutes, this will reset the computer. If no other codes show up you are good to go. If the P325 comes back you will know.

Just curious if anyone has any more info on this P325 code... Let me explain my situation....

Ok here goes.....

I recently put on a K&N CAI and after driving the car for 4 or 5 days the Ck eng light came on with the p325 Knock sensor code... Then a day later it went out without resetting the PCM... Last friday I took her to my speed guru and he did a Vac leak test and found some common areas for leaks, put in a catch can and a once over.... Said she's running great...And man he was right!!!! No miss, no hesitation, just plain power! Then today on the way home the light came back on???? Gas? Bad sensor itself?

Any ideas?
