Default how many mount?

The lower mount, from the front area, to the tranny (I am guessing) is bad. I am going to replace it. How many moounts do we have holding the engine/tranny in and which ones can I upgrade to the larger sport mounts, from a neon? That one you can see by looking in front of the passenger wheel is cracked through the rubber on all three little fingers in the mount and I think that is cqusing the shimmy when accelerating.

There are two mounts; trans and passengers, and two control arms.
You can use 3M Urethane Windshield adhesive to fix torn mounts, permanently.
If you totally fill the mounts, they become 'stiff', and pass vibes to the
the chassis. It will prevent excess powertrain movement for competition MTX
shifting, otherwise ...

There is a upper mount and a lower mount, actually called torque struts. The tranny mount rarely goes bad.

i was wondering about that filling the torn mounts. bmw guys do that too on the older 70s and early 80s bmws. we used urathane for filling cracks in the driveway.

so i have two mounts, a trans and a passenger mount. they are called torque struts. they are the longish aluminum arms on the lower part of the car?

superj, you have 2 mounts and 2 torque struts. The torque struts are the aluminum pieces you mentioned, they are on the passenger side of the engine. There is an upper and lower torque strut. If you look down the side of the engine in between the lower and upper torque strut about half way down the engine. You will see the pasenger side engine mount, it is bolted through the long member of the chassis. The 2nd engine mount is under the power distribution box on the driver side above the trans. Hope this helps.

Fill the control arms / torque struts / long Aluminum thingies , however we
want to call 'em.

Neon had it done eons ago, they were ripped, but now are still like new,
Urethane won't ever go bad, and if you don't like the feel, buy new ones,
which you would've had to do anyways.

Fill the torque struts or buy the neon srt-4 torque struts as they are much stronger than the weak PT stock ones. There is a motor mount on the passengerside and one on the firewall. These two mounts never need to be changed. The tranny mount on the driverside never has to be changed either.
