On a Saturday afternoon my 2001 PT don’t start, just the starter motor run and the check engine is ON. I plug my cheep OBII and the code show PCM failure check sum.
Go to a junkyard and pickup a PCM, plugged, the car start and then stall. Log in the internet and found a loco store that do PCM rebuilds, make an appointment for Monday. When I go to the store I bring the Junker and the original PCM and the I explain what I have done the guy tell me that I lock the car and nothing can be done, the dealer need to do a test with a DRB3, and I will need to replace the SKIM, the cluster and some other hell. Is this true? I plug back the original PCM and I have the same original issue and the same code. I need some advise, my loco Chrysler is well know to be a shark. |

My PCM WENT BAD AT 105,000 MILES. I bought a replacement from computer exchange for $225. What you do is they will send u a PCM programmed to your car and u need to sent them your bad PCM. You have a 1year warranty. So far no problems with PCM. Dealer quoted me $ 1,200.00 for new and programmed computer. Chrysler chose a bad location for the PCM , They take all the engine heat.
