Default R&R Glovebox Lock Cylinder

Does anyone know how to pop the lock cylinder out of one glovebox latch and install in another?
Thanks!

On mine, there's 4 phillips head screws in back of the lock and latch. Did you try taking them out and see if the lock is accessible ?

Yes. I can't get the cylinder to come out of the sleeve. I was hoping someone know where to press or pry without going gorilla on it

From the 2003 workshop manual; Unfortunately I can't supply the illustrations.

Remove glove box.
"Open front passenger door.
Open glove box door, push in on box/bin sides
to release the glove box
Allow the glove box to drop down. With a firm
quick motion, twist the glove box assembly off the
hinge pins."

Disassemble glove box.
"With glove box assembly on bench, remove
eleven glove box assembly screws"

Remove handle lock assembly
"Insert key into glove box lock cylinder. Using a
small pocket screwdriver or equivalent, push in on
retaining tab (on side facing handle) as you turn the lock cylinder 90 and
pull out lock cylinder"

Reassemble lock and glove box
" Insert key into lock cylinder.
Push lock cylinder into latch and turn to
straight up and down position. Remove key.
Reassemble glove box assembly and reinstall
into vehicle."

Apologies for dredging up an old thread, but I'd like to just post that the above steps work for the 06 glove box too.
