Default Camshaft & crankshaft sensors

I have a 2003 PT Cruiser 5sp non turbo with 63k miles. A couple of months ago the check engine light came on with the following problem. Going through the gears at around 2500rpm the car would perform like I was pumping the clutch without shifting it. One of the local auto parts employees hooked up the reader to it and said it was a problem with the crankshaft sensor. My mechanic replaced this as well as some other non-related repairs and I thought the problem was solved. Two weeks later the exact same thing happened. In taking it back to the same store to have the engine light checked, he told me it was a problem with the camshart positioning sensor and they should be replaced at the same time ( wish I had known that earlier.... ). My mechanic replace this as well and I was good for a month. Now the light is again coming on and doing the same thing. Assuming my mechanic did in fact change the parts, can anybody think of any other repairs that should be made?

Bizarre. It's not liking you-

Get the codes tested, better yet do a 'key dance' and the codes will appear.
Get ready to write 'em down quick, or have an assistant

Your mechanic is probably not using genuine MOPAR/Chrysler sensors. Time and time again, owners have come here and told us about problems after putting in store-bought sensors that either don't work from the beginning or fail pretty soon afterwards. Put out the cash and get genuine parts.
