Default Turbo Needed to be fixed

We have a 2003 Pt Crusier and the Chrysler place said it will be $2700.00 to fix.
My husband know a lot about cars, but don't know how to put a Turbo in. The auto parts has them for $1200.00 and it may be able to put it in. Does anyone know of a website that shows the details on how to put one in?

If the stock turbo is in place, I'd just make note of how everything's hooked up. Not hard really.

I hope your husband doesn't even pay HALF that for a turbo. There are ALOT on the used market, specifically the TD04LR (which is what you need) anywhere from $150-$250 with little to no shaftplay at all. Check out the SRT Forums, alot of those turbos are being used as paperweights.

Go to Turbos unleashed if you need a repalcement.

Get a FSM for the correct directions to replace it.

but would there be a difference if it's a turbo or a turbo lite?
You should be able to reach the turbo through the bottom right?

I removed mine from the top. You need to remove the intake manifold first.

that makes sense. I don't have a turbo but one of my friend's does. I finally got to see where it's at and i thought it would've been easier to get it through the bottom.

Smile Re: Turbo Needed to be fixed

Thanks for all of your help! We are going to order from Turbounleashed.com.
My husband is still not sure if he can do this job. He says it looks so compliacted, because there it is hard to get to and he is going to have to get some smaller tools. The parts under the hood is so compacted, but I love my PETEY!
