Check the balance of your wheels.

I'll second that. How old are your tires to. I bought a car that had been stored for some time and the tires came apart from under me while I was driving. Its like theres a knot or lump in the tire when this happens. Out of ballance will have a similar feel to it. Look closely at your tires to see if every other tread ridge is higher than the others and if so then ballancing your tires will likely fix the issue.
Are there any minor rumblings while accelerating? If so look at your motor mounts.

Hi bhunt41,
I had the same problem 4 months ago.
When I was driving from 100-110km/h (65-70M) my PT started to shake.
It kept shaking when accelerating, then reduced when I stopped accelerating.

I first check the front tires, and found them not good anymore.
Got the tires changed, balance & alignment adjusted.
Everything solved.

If in your case your tires are ok (shape and pressure), as advised by Crewzin, check then the balance and alignment of your wheels.

Hope this helps
Cheers, Popeye
