Default Engine vibration / suspension knock

Hi, new PT owner here, always wanted one since they came out in UK, finally bought a 2001 LE auto 81,000 miles on the clock. Love it but...

There seems to be a vibration through to the steering wheel and rest of passenger compartment in time with engine revs. As I run a newly new company car a well I am not sure if this vibration is due to it being an older design car or if there is a problem. It is not a huge issue but I am just trying to find out if this is normal.

I get a knock from the suspension when I go over certain road humps (speed restrictors) I read elsewhere that the PT's suffer from wearing plastic/nylon bushes. Is this the sort of symptom you would expect and how easy are they to replace? (I have just ordered my workshop manual).

Thanks, now back to polishing my little beauty.

Check your motor mounts and your bushings on the lower control arms. Simple search will tell ya where they're located (no need to take anything apart really).

If your upper motor mount is bad, chances are your lower motor mount is bad too.

You mentioned the UK, although we run different engines the motor mounts should generally be in the same general location (passenger side)

Just a small correction- UK and Aussie models are RHD. The mounts you are looking for will be on the drivers side. At least thats where mine are

Looking at the engine from the front of the car, next to the radiator cap is a sleeved hose that runs between the top mount and the timing belt cover. Youll have to gently lift this hose out of the way to see the mount.

Best of luck matey.
