Default 2002 PT Cruiser not firing

Just bought a 2002 cruiser 2.4L non-turbo with blowed head gasket. Repaired head gasket, installed new timing belt, water pump, tensioner, and idler pulley. Got everything together and now it has no fire at the plugs and injectors are not pulsing. Can some one give me advice on this. I have read alot on this forum, and I truly beleive someone on here has run into this before. I am not getting any codes from the PCM. I am new to the forum, I would greatly appreciate any and all advice. This is the first Chrysler product I have owned.
Thanks,
fletch65

I am not highly Chrysler Techincal, Ford & VW I am ... but I would first look at whether or not the sensors are all plugged in good ..... particularly the Camshaft and Crankshaft position sensors. Make sure you have a good ground to the engine, just because the starter cranks doesn't always mean there is a good ground to the engine ..... and if so, make sure you have a good ground to the body ... the ECU/PCM in most cars usually ground to the body.

Than you for the info. I am in the process of trying to test camshaft and crankshaft sensors. I am looking for any suggestions on how to test these. What color are the wires to the camshaft sensor, I think I have switched this plug for the one that goes to the coil pack? Need help!!!!

Thanks,
Gerry

Camshaft sensor wires, what I can see, are orange, black with a blue stripe and a pale white (maybe be a dirty yellow). Never changed mine so it's 11 years of being under the hood.

There was a post yesterday about the coilpack and CMP having the same plug ... sounds like he swapped them and got it going. I did not know they used the same. I could see though that the ECU programming may not allow the injectors to fire if there is no spark ... or what is seen as a coil failure, just to keep from flooding the engine.

Did you swap them and try again?

Welcome ... I can't go look at mine and tell you colors ... it's an 06 and probably different harness. The kids 01 is miles away so that is out too. Hope it works out.

Plugs for camshaft sensor and coil pack were switched, I put them in the right place. Now it is firing and getting fuel. But I think it is out of time, it is popping thru the throttle body. It tried to run but just would not catch. I guess I will tear the front off again and check the timing alignment, a weekend project. Any suggestions on how to make sure timing is correct, and how to make sure it is on the compression stroke?
Thanks,
Gerry

There are threads here and at PTCrew about the timing blet - there are arrows on the cam sprokets - search under "timing".
