I may be wrong but I believe the superchargers that were built for the N/A PTs were only for the first couple of years the PT was made (01, 02, 03). Not sure of the ins and outs but that's what I've read.

I've seen the whipple superchargers in a pt before. I'm not a tech guy so i don't know if it'll hurt or not. I've been told that you can put a tubro in an NA but only boost at 8psi or less. If i get the money that's what i'm gonna do to Eve.

this pic came from this article 2001 Chrysler PT Cruiser - Motor Trend

I have a Whipple supercharger on mine. It adds a good amount of power. Nothing crazy but about 6-8 psi, just enough to get out of its way and accelerate up hills nicely.

If I had to do it over again I wouldn't add it though. No one will work on the car now, even for simple things, and it took quite a bit of time and $$ to get the thing working right. If I wasn't so attached to my 2001 I would have traded up for a GT. But when you wait 9 months for your first brand new car to be built after following the prototype for years its a little hard to part with!

lol, that's one thing i've heard about the whipple's, that they really aren't worth it. The parts, labor, getting some one to working on them, getting it to work right. Just like you said. I wanted one till i found all this out. Even tho it looks really easy to install i think i'll just wait to get a turbo.
