Default fitting PCV valve

Hi Cruisers,

Firstly love this site, very helpful and saving me big bucks here in Australia.

I'm new at this so bare with me if I ask a stupid question. I am about to change the PCV valve on my 2001 classic and have noticed the one thats currently on my PT appears to have a fibre circular gasket/seal/flange between it and the valve cover. My new part didn't come with anything.

I have read various threads on this site about replacing the PCV valve but can't find anything on if there is a need for any gasket/seal/flange. Do I need one? Your help would be great

Thanks again,
Reenie.

Okay, here's the parts breakdown for the 2 litre engine, also don't see anything like you're speaking of.

Chromenut,

Question. Like in the picture below, my 2.4 ltr PCV valve goes straight into the valve cover, no "L" shape valve. It's just like the picture for the 2.0 ltr. I have the parts manual for the 2001 model and it too shows just what your does, the "L" shape valve for the 2.4 ltr. But in reality, the valve is straight. What gives?

Hmmm, good point, I need to look into that. Gotta go to the stealership tomorrow, guess I'll take my manuals and compare to their's and see what's up with that! Let you guys know what I find....

Hey Reenie.
Im in Perth West Oz and just checked my 2004 2litre PCV valve. I cant see any washer or gasket there. I think you should be right.

Edit- just checked your gallery. Nice paint job!

As I commented to kawizx the other day concerning the Magnaflo cat thread, I really don't think anyone is reading my posts. I'm just wasting my time here, So bye-bye.
