Angry 2001 cruiser eginge help please

My daughter drove her 2001 cruiser with insufficient coolant. She drove it till it died. I had it towed home. Next day i topped off collant tried to start it but it turns over And wont start, it popps a little like it wants to start but wont. It sounds like it is spinning without any comperssion. No water in oil or oil in water.. Could it possibly be a warped head or blown gasket ? Pulled 1 plug and it looked normal. Where do i begin ?

Did you check the timing belt. Are the Cams turning? Topping off, how much coolant required to do so? Could be both TBelt and Water Pump. BTW, how many miles on the car?

Had daughter turn it over, belt is moving. Coolant was pretty much bone dry, 102k miles on it.

Okay ... since belt moving that rules out a total failure of the water pump which would have created the no coolant condition and a no compression condition with valves stuck open. At 102K it should have been replace by now. I would most likely say the drive it til it died totally blew out the head gasket or cracked the block or most likely the head. I would run a compression check on it first, then begin tearing it down. I don't think you will be seeing much of the new coolant you put in making it into the oil or oil in new coolant because you have not been able to get it running. Glad I had my kid check the coolant all the time when I bought hers due to some leakage at the thermostat housing which I repaired.
