Default Seatbelt/ airbag light

Light just came on one day along with the chime. After about 2 weeks the car no longer chimes but the light is still on. Attempted to erase light with a hand held, have replaced the seat belts as recommended by a local shop, and have checked fuses with nothing as a result, any ideas before I just take a piece of electrical tape to it?

Blown, you might have a "clock-spring" that's busted in your steering column. I have no idea what it does but it's a part that goes bad and throws an "air-bag" warning light.

By the way, a Chrysler mechanic told me about the air-bag light ....

the clock spring assembly holds the wires for the air bag, the horn, and, in my 96 ram, the cruise control wires.

So with those being connected, if I were to replace the clock spring will this rid of the airbag light and fix my cruise control issue? I have posted a previous thread about how my cruise control no longer works. could these 2 issues be tied together?

that is a possibility. One thing you could do is maybe get a haynes manual and see if all tho's wires are connected to your clock spring. if i remember i'll check my manual when i get home.
