Default Ok radiator fan is 5 months old and half working!

Ok i have been having problems with the car overheating as of late. So after some investigating i have discovered the high speed fan thats supposed to kick on when running the ac doesnt kick on. I have looked at the suggested fuses and they look fine. Since the radiator fan is 5 months old " old one was replaced due to blade breaking". What should i do next?

Where did you get the new fan? Is it still under warranty? Whether is is or not, you need a new one. Maybe you shouldn't get the same brand if you got it off E-Bay, etc.

Good luck.

there must be a warranty of some sort on a 5 month old fan.
don't know if you replaced it or had it done, either by the dealer or a shop.

beat by 2 minutes.

Ok the part came from NAPA. It was replaced by a local mechanic. Is there anything else i should check? I checked all the fuses and i dont know how to tell if a relay went bad. So if the fan works just doesnt kick into HIGH its totally shot?

Invid, the high speed and low speed PT fans on certain models have separate brushes. Apparently, your high-speed brushes are kaput, although your low speed ones are fine.

The fan (at 5 months) seems defective. See if they'll give you a new one. Still, I don't know if I'd go for the same brand, considering the trouble you're going through in so short a time since replacing your fan.
