Default Non-gearhead

3 days and I have "MOD"fever already[8)]
From what I understand the best ratio of H.P. gain/Money is to increase airflow(intake/exhaust system) next would be ignition(wires, voltage, com.chip)
Base h.p. is listed at 150-all things cosidered-can I bump it up to 180 for under 1000$.Would be nice to tweak another 3 mpg out of the deal too.

the big grin told cook to wait for the V-8 to be introduced!!

Intake - yes. Ignition - no. Putting platinum plugs & better wires will last longer, but the stock ignition burns what there is in fuel.

I'd look at intake, exhaust, a turbo intake manifold, and cams. Only do the cams if you don't have state emissions inspections, and could care less about the warranty.

By exhaust, I mean cat-back. A header doesn't add much.

Up to you, but a bolt-on turbo would "goose" it, but probably more than $1000, and you really should beef up the innards (rods, pistons) if you go turbo.

Hey,
I am interested on installing some headers to my PT. I have already put a K&N Ram Air Kit and a Borla/Mopar dual exhaust. But i wanted to know:

1. I want it to have better acceleration, not top speed. I have a 2001 PT, and speed after dead stop is so slow. Does it help in that department?
2. Which is better, JBA Headers or Headman 4-2-1 Headers?

Thanx everyone.
TKT-PTC

P.S. I'll soon put up pics of my PT

4-2-1 headers for low end, 4-1 for top end
