Default Pt cruiser:Race Car?!?!?

OK so I know i'm in left field but I am thinking about building a pt cruiser into an asphalt circle track race car. I know they weigh around 3100# from the factory. How much weight can I safely say I can cut out of this vehicle? I got more questions but before I invest everyones time and start asking questions I wanna see if it is even possible to trim enough weight.

probably a couple hundred pounds by removing the passenger and rear seats.
then again you'll want to install a roll bar which is gonna add some of that weight back.
not much else you can safely remove that will reduce the weight by any means. i guess the spare tire and the cage that holds it might bring it down around 50 more pounds.

plus all the plastic panels on the inside might shed an extra hundread or so, carpet can shed some more.... probly gona have to drop a differant engine in. remove the back window wiper motor, replace the windows with lighter plexy or lexan.

Carbon fiber hood and carbon fiber hatch (with no window) will help alot.

15"-16" light-weight wheels.

AC delete, radio delete, h.balancer removal (if you've got a stick) are just a few suggestions as well.

I would hit them up on ptcrew. Several there do autoX and can give you an idea of what is needed.

seats, carpet, dash, plastuc door skins, plastic wheel wells, a/c, cruise, heater core, other non essential items under the hood. All glass will be removed front will be replaced with lexan, back hatch completly removed. All of this is what I plan on removing. I was more wondering if anyone had a thought on how much this would weigh after those removals. I will give ptcrew a shot see what they ahve to say.

An engine mod is not an option need stock engine. the 2.4 will work primo as long as I can get the weight down.

It is pretty late in the off season this will be a back of the stove project, more then likely sidelined till fall but possibly a july project
