Default Leaking red oil

So I have a slow leak of red oil right under where the transmission fluid pan is. So I assumed that it was the gasket of the transmission pan and replaced that. After replacing it there is still a slow leak. I took it to a shop and after having them look at it found out that they don't work on transmissions. they told me that oil was leaking from the controll box but after doing some research I found out that that is an electrical part that wouldn't contain fluid to begin with. I was told by another friend that it could be the axel seal. Does any body have any idea what could possibly be causing this leak?

Very doubtful it's an axle seal. Hope somebody with an Auto-tranny is going to respond as I've got the G288 manual and never leaked anything.

It's most likely the transmission solenoid, it's known to leak. As far as transmission problems go it's cheap to fix. Here are some threads on the subject. Good luck.

That is the exact symptom mine had. It was the solenoid pack. Swapped it out, problem solved.

Is transmission is shifting good probably it's just the solenoid Gasket that you can get it at the dealer for less that 10 bucks.

Go to PTCrew.com - Learn it or Burn it. @ "Mod Bible" section they explain how to change it.

I was gonna say red = tranny fluid, but it looks like others already beat me to it.

yeah it is really a slow leak... I have been driving it the past few days and it shifts though all gears with out any problems... I carry extra tranny oil with me and check it often so I shouldn't have any problems... I'll hopefully switch out the gasket this weekend when I have more time.

Js, make sure to check that it's not that plastic to metal piece (I can't remember the exact name of the section) on the automatic solenoid pack. I've read a number of posts that mention this issue. So a new gasket--alone--won't fix the problem in this case.

RockAuto has the whole shebang for pretty cheap--and it's a Borg Warner.
