yesterday i noticed that my fog lights werent working
so today i went and bought some replacement bulbs thinking they were burnt out
well i took off the wheel guard and the lights werent even plugged in
so i plugged them in and they didnt work
i hooked up one of the new bulbs and still didnt work..

is it just a blown fuse then?

did they work previously? or have you recently purchased your pt and just realized they weren't working?
i ask because maybe the previous owner unplugged them due to a problem in the multifunction switch, ie, they stayed on all the time. and maybe he pulled the fuse as well.

Are both lights not working? I had one that I had to replace because water got inside it. Back when I did it, I had no manual, so I didn't remove the front tire. It was not fun.

I mention this because if one fog light can go, maybe both can. Any moisture inside them?

But I'd look for other threads on here first to see what else can go wrong. I suspect I'm not right about this one.

Like soyomb just said, the previous owner most likely had a bad multifunction switch and not knowing that he could just pull the No#8 fuse, he got underneath and pulled the plugs.

found out today that the fuse had been taken out and the electrical connectors to the bulbs pulled off by chrysler from the previous owner.
sounds like the common issue of the fog lights not wanting to turn off.
is this fixable?

Like we told you earlier, a new multi-function switch (the left stalk on your steering column) will fix the problem or you can follow some directions in the HOW TO section of the tech & Performance part of the forum and try to fix the stalk you have.

Along the same lines, but not quite.

I've noticed that a lot of the problems with fog lights is the switch and mostly older models. Does anyone know if the problem was ever fixed in later models or do I have the same cheap switch in my 2010 (my 07 didn't have foglights)

The MFS went out on my kids 01. I can tell you that the fix the previous owner or chrysler dealer did for previous owner is probably all they could do. The one on my kids 01 went out about 2 years ago, when Government Motors first opened up and Chrysler was showing a large negative profit, unlike now. The dealerships had the parts on backorder, nobody had them. I beleive we were told by our local dealer there were more than 2500 units on backorder nationwide. I was lucky to get a used one on eBay that had no foglight switch for about the price of a new one. Better than dead batteries all the time. Good luck with the fix. BTW, I looked at repairing the original switch ... good luck with that!
