Default Headlight switch info

Hi everyone. I am trying to replace the headlight switch in my 06 PT Cruiser. Problem has been finding the part since the only ones I can find are for cars with fog lights. The original part (1S7764) doesn't seem to even be made anymore. I don't mind throwing the fog light version in if it fits. The wiring is already there for fog lights and it was something on my to-do list, but not yet. The fog light switch is part number 1S7761 or 1S7759. Thanks for the help guys.

It's not a headlight switch on the PT, it's called the MFS, Multi-Function Switch. It's not too difficult to replace, I'm already on my third one. Foglights are part of this MFS. There are MANY part numbers for the MFS, lots depends on the date of manufacture of your car. I'll paste below snapshots of the page from the OEM service manual for this:

Anywhere I can find the manufacture date of the car? It is a route 66 edition 06 PT. On the rock auto site, and all the others I've looked at, it is listed as a headlight switch even though we all know it is the MFS switch. Again though, would I have issues putting a fog light version in the car? Is there some doodad that is on the fog light version that might in the way, etc. Thanks guys.

For what it's worth, I have a MFS from the early version Cruisers that doesn't have the foglight function. Got it off of Ebay when the MFS on my 02 went goofy. Got it without thinking anything about fog lights. Dawned on me when it showed up. It's been sitting in a box in the garage for 4 or 5 years. I'm assuming it works, but, hey, it came off of an Ebay auction. If you think it might work for you, you can have it.
