Default Condenser fan testing

Good Day,

Has anyone had a problem with the small fan located on the condenser, below the radiator? My A/C wasn't working and I had the dealer look at it and they told me that the system blew out the freon due to it overheating and building up pressure. They further stated that it was a problem was the radiator fan not going on high. I can replace that but my question is why would that affect the A/C system as it has its own fan? Has anyone tested theirs before? Any responses would be most appreciated.

I only have one fan, and it cools, both the radiator and the condenser. Does anyone have two fans on their PT's? I've not heard of them coming stock like that.

By the way, your one fan--with its two speeds--should be cooling the radiator and the A/C condenser. If the fan is shot, or not running well, the "high side" of your A/C system is not cooled and it produces too much pressure in your A/C system--and, like mine--can rupture an A/C line.

Sorry about that everyone! Spoke to the parts guy and he was the one that told me about there being two fans before I had looked for myself. Sure enough there is only one. Not sure why Napa would have a seperate listing for a condenser fan? Perhaps it is just another application. Thanks anyway and sorry for wasting everyones time.

I will be replacing the cooling fan soon, as I can't run the A/C here with just the low side working and definately need it with almost a hundred here every day.

Thanks Agan,

RJ
