Default Air Intake Question

I own a 2001 PT and i have the stock intake, I am wondering what intake would be the best to swap the stock one out and put an aftermarket one on. Also where does the oxygen sensor go if you put an aftermarket one on. Is there a set place for it to go?

Thank You,

Teckspeed

Dropping in a k&n and doing the airbox mod works for most folks.

However some prefer the airraid or somw other kind of system which mainly pulls in good cooler air.

Cool Re: Air Intake Question

Auto, or manual tranny?
If you have an non-turbo, standard tranny, a cold air intake system (like the AirRaid) can improve your pedal response considerably; and MPG a little.

The ones that move the air sensor have a place for it to go - be careful with it - you CAN break it.
I agree with others - AND an intake like an AirAid sounds awesome.

All of the major name brand intakes should provide a small performance and MPG gain. There are only so many ways to engineer the product so they end up being pretty much all the same. I have used K&N, Airaid, Injen and AEM products on vehicles in the past, they all work. Check prices on e-bay and go with whichever you prefer.

if you get a short ram go for one of these like an airaid that has a heatsheild for the filter, or just a k&n drop in.

the only sensor i know of for the intake is the IAT or something like that. My pipe came with a hole and grommet for it but you can usually buy a piece that has a few different holes
