Exclamation Possible worn cv joint plus error code

Clicking on left front when I make a right turn.
Sometimes when I accelerate from complete stop. Now error code p0455
says could be loose gas cap retightened gasket is good. Is cv something I can replace myself? If not what's a fair price for having it done? Appreciate any input thank you

We have no way of knowing how capable you are of doing it yourself. I've seen lots of ads in the paper with prices of around $150-$250 for a CV joint replacement but you never know if they will try and add to that price when doing the job. You sure it's not the wheel bearing? There's a lot more problems with the bearings than CV joints. Jack the car up and see if there's any play at the wheels when they are grabbed and shaken.

Also, do you have hub caps or mag wheels? Here's a clicking sound from someone with Moon hub caps: I think I may have solved my problems with the full moon wheel covers I installed months ago.

The front right (especially) had the disconcerting habit of rotating on the wheel to the point of bending the valve stem. One of the other four would do this also and when I swapped wheel covers around, it did not seem to matter- the front right still needed to be removed and remounted often. They were clearly on well and holding tight, but rotated forward.
As I searched on line, I found that this was not unusual and that the ticking/ clicking sound that I heard was also a wheel cover phenomena. Did you know that a car's steel wheel actually deforms as it rotates (picture the behavior of the rubber tire)? Apparently this deformation walks the wheel cover around.

After trying a wrap of rubber foam weather stripping around the outside of the wheel cover fingers and putting rubber grommets in the valve stem holes (no success), I bought some 3M brand non-slip stair (ladder) tread tape and ran some of this 1" wide tape around the inner wheel circumference where the moon cover fingers grasp. The tape is like coarse sand paper and has good adhesion.

Best I can tell, so far, this has stopped the rotation and the ticking noise.

Most of the time the fault code P0455 means the gas cap wasn't tightened enough the last time you got gas. Make sure it clicks 3 times when putting it back on. The code should go away after a day or so it that was the problem.

Looks like im in the same boat as everyone else. Motor mounts!
Now is there any way of finding all of the motor mounts I only see 1 is it terribly difficult
to replace? Expensive? Sorry to be a pain I just don't want to get soaked at the mechanic thanks

The upper "motor mount" is pretty easy to change, the lower it's a little more complicated...you'll need a jack and stands or ramps to change it...BTW what part of LI are you?

The mount on lower passenger side bolt is not centered looks like rubber is wrecked. Should bolt be centered? Is top mount on driver or passenger side?

The car 3 "motor mounts" on the passenger side and another on the driver side.
The two that usually go bad are the upper and lower passenger side mounts or torque struts, the center mount almost never goes bad.
If you see the lower mount not centered I'm almost 100% sure is bad. Usually if the lower is bad the upper is bad too.
When they go bad they will make the engine rock back and forth and make noise.
