Default Still Overheating

I have a 2003 2.4L PT Cruiser that still overheats after I changed the thermostat & fluid. My old thermostat was trashed and the fluid was dirty and cloudy looking. I listened for the fan to come on which it did. This is what I did to my 2002 Cruiser with the same engine and that took care of it. Any ideas?
