Default Which Mod is the Best?

Howdy,
I was wondering which would give me better performance: a K&N FIPK system, or a new catback exhaust (w/o headers). If there is anything else out there comparable in price with more performance, please let me know. I've been looking now for months on anything that will give me some more power without alot of cash. I'm a non-turbo guy.

ummm...you'd probably be better off getting the catback, and using a K&N drop in filter. But don't expect miracles, for that you need forced induction or Nitrous.

For most bang for the buck, go to PTDoItYourself.Net and look at:
http://www.ptdoityourself.net/ptaaiguide.html
These are very low cost intakes that won't void warranty.
Also, do MX-5's 1-2 shift burp mod.
Also make sure your tires are fully inflated - I go 36psi - you can feel sluggish with mushy tires.

In the article at PTdoityourself, which homemade intake would be best for the 03' with much work.

Im looking at the one done by Bruce and Lori Simmons. I like it and would rap it in insulation then cover it with the intake hose. MX-5's is good also but don't like the change of battery location.

In not voiding your warranty, do you have to replace stock parts when going to the dealer for an oil change.

You should not have to. They have to prove that what you modded caused whatever problem you have. Suppose your power steering pump goes - no way can they blame that on an air intake.

I would go with the Kenne Bell ECU upgrade. I was the most bang for the buck. 350.00 the shifts are hard and with the stock 16's they spin off the line. I pulled a few V6's and I was impressed.

The upgrade sounds good but don't forget that it can be wiped out by the dealer if they happen to flash your computer while your in for service.

Does Kenne Bell offer any type of warranty if something like that happens?
