Default Increase fuel mileage.

I'm new to this web site and just want to pass along some info on something I took a chance on. It helped increase my mpg by 1.5 to the gallon. I was amazed and want to let everybody in on this. I have one on my 2000 F150, PT Cruiser, and my brother also put one on his 1997 F150 with a v6, we all picked up over one mile to the gallon. Click on the the ebay insert. Also I'm not affiliated with this company.

it's crap, it's just a resister in a box. I've done just about every gimmick out there but this is one i never tried. please if you want to increase your mpg's, do an air box mod and get a k&n drop in filter. inflate your tires a lil more then usuall, and change the spark plugs and wires. that's as good as it's gonna get for the pt.

cajunscooter2002, All that thing does is fake the computer into thinking there's more cold air coming into the throttle body by hooking it up to the IAT sensor. The computer advances the timing and also sends more fuel to the mixture. There no way in heck does it save on fuel by adding MORE fuel into the system. It might run a little better, just like you car does on a cold morning compared to a warm and humid day but think about this; this trick of making the computer think there's colder air than it really is, is working ALL the time, even where your sitting idle at a traffic light, it never stops, the computer is always adding more fuel to the mix.

I could link to several studies that have been done on this piece of crap and everyone of them says that it's a waste of money and report a loss of fuel economy because of the extra fuel being used. eBay has these things in various forums and it started out years ago with just a wire with a resistor that you stuck into the IAT. Now they have a bright little box with the same resistor stuck inside and sells for 15 times the price of the resistor and it's still the same thing.

Lastly, can you really tell me honestly you can tell that you've gained 1 mile to the gallon? Where you get your gas, the time of day, they type of gas you use and the temperature outside the gas station all play a part on how much gas you actually put in your tank. You could gain or loose 1 gallon everytime you fill up by doing nothing.

In reality, IAT is only in use open loop; starting, warmup and WOT.

@ Cruise O2 sensor adjusts fuel, so IAT does nichts

It might produce leSs power with more fuel.

You can buy wide band O2 sensors which will send PCM a 'stoich' signal when it's actually running lean:
