Default Dont spend money on the K&N

I bought the following filter at autozone

Spectre Performance

Exact same specs and lifetime warranty as the K&N but only half the price. It was $21.99 I did have to order it but it only took 2 days.

I wondered what the heck KPN was until I realized you spelled K&N wrong in the title. I fixed it.

I think I paid 25 for my K&N when I had one last year. But it does look the same.

I have to be honest: I have purchased various Spectre parts for my cars, mostly because they are rip-offs of brand name products but available *now* at Autozone versus ordering from Jegs or Summit. Suffice to say, IMHO, you get what you pay for. YMMV.

The spectra cone filters have been known to loose the end cap and get sucked into the turbos. Havent heard anything on the other styles though.

I have heard of the actual foam breaking down into tiny pieces and getting sucked into the intake.I dont have any experience with them but I have heard that from several people.

Heard that one, too. Didn't turn out well. You get what you pay for indeed.

If by specs you mean demensions, there are lots of differant brands out there that are the same size. The differance is the makeup of the filtering material. As has been said in the above posts---You get what you pay for---.
