Default P0882 Low input signal

For those who have had this code come up and the car goes into limp mode, the cause is a corroded wire that connects the PCM to the transmission harness, its attached to the battery tray mount by two plastic clips. Labor involves taking the connector apart and repairing or replacing the corroded connectors. Dealer charges 2 hours to repair.

you have to take the battery tray out, the harness is under it. i havent done this myself, but i think ive seen the harness there when i did my own digging years ago when i had this issue.

My wifes 07 cruiser base 2.4 105k miles threw two codes yesterday p0700 and p0882. I have no idea were to begin this hunt. Normally I dont get frustrated and have always been able to fix my issues but this one makes me wonder if I should just take it to a mechanic. Do you have any advice on where to start. I have already pulled the battery and tray out. Looked at the wiring harness to see if any loose wires were visible on the top of the harness, saw none. Pulled out some sort of solenoid/sensor from transmission(seems to be two of them, only pulled one the easiest to reach) cleaned of some fine metal shavings. Not sure if I should replace them?. Read another post here stating it could/would be a corroded wire under battery tray. Any help would be appreciated as she needs the vehicle for work monday

Thumbs up Re: P0882 Low input signal

my car (90K) had the same problem, in my case the P0882 code was caused due to the upper hose radiator, this hose was getting to hot and transferred the heat to the positive cable of the battery en the voltage down, so I just change the upper hose of radiator (cost me $6 on rockauto) and problem was solved!!

Wasn't there other problems with the voltage dropping when the upper radiator hose got hot?

Ghost, I am the person that posted those codes, I am going to check the connector under the batt. box. And if that doesn't fix it, I guess I will have to get a reconditioned TIPM.
I will post what I find out! Good Luck to you. PTpeacher

I'm having this code come up after my 2006PT Cruiser has gone into limp mode. What did you find out about the connector under the battery box?

P0882-TCM Power input low
P0882 is set when there is less than 3.0 volts present at the transmission control output circuits located in the PCM when the Transmission Control System request the power up of those circuits.

Possible Causes:
Transmission Control Circuit short to ground (T15)
Transmission Control Circuit open (T15)
PCM
