Default Snapped belt on the ground

Started my 03 cruiser after a week and i t squealed pretty bad. battery light came on. drove to my parents and left the car running figuring the battery woul charge up a bit. got back in and car died. looked at the bottom of the driveway and a broken belt is on the ground. figuring not timimg belt because it still went up the driveway. any ideas. im pretty capable once i know what i need to do but diagnostic is not a strong suit. thanks

You only have 3 belts (timing, serpentine and alternator) and if the battery light came on, it's a sure bet that it's the alternator belt that snapped. Not to bad to replace it but if you've never done anything like that, best left to a professional.

I've searched around but there's no good links to changing the alternator belt that I can find.

Over on PTCrew, there it's a decent write up in the Mod Bible on changing the accessory belts. It's not very difficult, but like a lot of stuff on the Cruiser it's harder than on other cars...
