If you have a turbo, you'll still be sucking a lot of hot air so you are better of with your modified factory air box and a K&N drop in filter You only gonna get the intake look and sound, no power gain...maybe the opposite

I beg to differ the air box mod is a joke And the stock one sucks the one I got has a heat sheld and I'm going to angle it to pull out the finder well.

If I need to shift fast, YES I always flat foot it with no problems....I never heard an Stage 1 not letting you do that.... Are you 5 speed, right?

And about that intake, I know a LOT of guys running 300+ WHP on their GTs and they ALL have the modified OEM air box with hard pipes and K&N drop in... They already tried the "cold air intakes" at the dyno and they saw a drop on HP when you use them.....
So the conclusion is that YOU WILL LOOSE hp because you are still sucking HOT air from the engine.

Beg to differ, with your "beg to differ".
ON my 3rd PT, this 2011 Couture, my bad knees had me go back the auto tranny.
And, I was tired to emptying the wallet for premium for the turbo.
So, as shown in a past post, I did the air box mod with a few tweeks.
-foam seal the larger intake tube to wheel well opening.
-made small "screened" opening in fender flap directly below opening in fender.
-Has a somewhat better pedal response; simiar to the AirRaid intake system in the na soonercruiser. THis should translate into a mile or two more per gallon highway.
-Gas mileage is yet to be tested.
-does give you a "litte growl" like the AirRaid

Here is only 15 cents more per gallon...so about $2 more at the pump

That "cold air intake" will suck air from the place that is easy to suck...for example between the hood and your intake,or behind the battery, or around the pipe that goes to the turbo, etc because it will NEVER seal it completely.

I can always flat foot shift with any car. Why it doesn't let you do it?

You are wrong. This topic has been going for years, but I guess you missed it. If it is not enclosed you suck hot air. If you suck hot air you lose 1 hp for every ten degrees of hot air added. You also lose torque. All of this has been proven on the dyno.
