Default What's up with PT maintenance

........ Been giving some serious thought about purchasing a 2006 PT, but hearing all the Timing Belt issues and the cost I'm just not sure. I know this is part of maintenance on many OH cam engines ie Honda etc. What should I be concerned about ??????????

Timing belt, water pump and belt should all be done around 100k mi's. i think there's something else that needs to be changed to but i always forget what it is. Obviously if you get a used car, it would be best for a know PT/Chrysler mechanic look over it. If the car wasn't well mantained then you're gonna have a lot of probs, most common one is overheating. If the car is in good shape then let us know how much, how many miles and what model. We can give you a good idea as to how much you should pay.

Ballpark price for Timing belt, water pump, idler pulley & the other accessory belts is about $1,000, and should be done around 100,000 miles.
I'd recommend a flush of auto trans by a flushing machine and refill with new ATF + 4 fluid - for about $200 at same time.
