Default lower radiator hose

i am having trouble with the lower radiator hose, the pinch clamp that originally held in place to bottom of radiator plug doesnt seem to secure it enough. I filled with coolant ran for a while and once pressure had built up it blew the hose off the rad pipe. 1) is there a nack to fitting the hose (the pinch clamp didnt seem to be able to be moved down enough to secure pipe onto rad pipe) 2) will a hose clamp be able to securely hold this in place once the pressure builds up? (by hose clamp i mean the type that you use screwdriver to tighten) ta

if the stock clamp has lost it's tension then it won't hold anymore, I would just replace it with a worm drive clamp...

Worm drive clamps are called jubilee clips in the UK, amazes me how the same thing has too completely different names

Make sure you push that lower radiator hose on all the way. It's kind of tricky. If it blows again, then replace the clamp.

thanks, used a jubilee clip from b&q which seems to have held it pretty tight. It is awkward to get the hose all the way on the pipe as pipe is at an angle and awkard to view as the bottom of bumper is in the way. Hopefully is on enough, pushed it as far as possible that i could see! although the jubilee/worm clip seems to be a lot better for this job than the pinch clamp.

have had constant overheating problem for past few months but rad flush/new coolant and bleeding seems to have done the trick is now happilly idling at half way and if goes slightly beyond this the high speed fan kicks in.. I cant hear or see low speed fan kicking in but it takes a good 10 -15 mins of idling to reach half way on guage - if this is normal? - thanks D

that sounds about right to me on the time frame for the fan to kick on at idle... seems like it takes forever when you are just sitting there waiting for it.
