Default automatictranny direct drive

02 Pt Touring limited edition 2.4dohc At,190k. problem started odd surge at idle while in drive, simular when fuel pump failed. Other morning started car and put in gear and it surges forward and stalls. Start again solution more fuel squeals tire and stalls. Best desciption is torque converter locked solid providing direct drive . can get car moving but if you brake just like braking a manual trans with out clutch it stalls . i know most elect. trans have torque converter lock up soleniods searched found referances to trans. soleniod but most refer to code or leak issue, can this unit cause such a problem ? bought used in 03 60k trans changed. (warrantee third trans.) went in 90k have had no problem trans. related until this. Any help would be greatly appreceited. All work performed at home.

Unfortunately I can only tell you that when my wifes solenoid pack failed, it still drove in limp mode. I don't think the solenoid actually runs the TCC, but I'm probably wrong.

Anyone know if the TCC control is separate from the solenoid pack? Any way to pull the connector off to prevent TCC lockup? I just haven't pulled one of these out yet, I can tell you for sure on an 89 firebird 700r4 that it has its own connector.

thank you for the response . i have a 700r4 sitting on garage floor 4 pin connector . can anyone direct me to a trans. service manual or a wiring schematic and or diagram i'll take it from there. thank a million for any help it is greatly appreciated. I am familiar with repairs on pt-brakes(f+r) sway links and bushings (f+r)shocks, exhaust(mid pipe)Alt.,timing belt and idler pulley, water pump . F. struts, control arms and wheel bearings, intack manifold gasket with tune upfirst time tackling trans. I hope its a out side electrical problem!
P. S. also have 07 pt with 70k time for front end work any suggestion for bushings that will hold up a little better than Auto zone new part free is great but you still have to put the time in quality durability are not overated .
