Default Auto no shift ? Relearn Process

In another post I asked about non-shifting after and accident (won't shift out of first gear) TCM connector may have been damaged, but not sure. Further forum searches say that if the tranny was emptied (all the fluid was pumped out in the street when the cooler ruptured), and that there is "relearning" process upon fix and refill?

The car was lot moved with the tranny empty or near empty to move it in out out of garage maybe the computer has a "safe mode" under low fluid conditions?

I didn't give it any time last night to "learn" after I filled it. Just took it out to test drive ...went a few hundred shift...brought it back.

Any truth to the relearn process??

There is a quick learn process but it has nothing to do with your tranny not shifting at all, you have something else going on.

And no, a missing driver's airbag has nothing to do with this either.
