Default looking to mod

hey guys so i was looking into doing a srt-4 swap to my N/A pt but after reading even more, its looking to be a pain in the ass. So, what kind of mods can i do short of intake and exhaust? i would like to turbo it but i dont think the motor could handle it. Im not trying to go full bore race car or nothin, just wanting something with a bit more pep the power when i wanna get on it. Any suggestions?

If you'd go as far as to consider forced induction, then why not sell your N/A and buy a GT or Turbo-Lite?

Just food for thought...

If money is a consideration, there's not a lot you can do. Keep it well tuned up, take as much weight as you can out of the car (rear seats weigh about 100lbs), a few more pounds of air in the tires for less rolling resistance. As it's been said 100 times on this forum, it's a CRUISER. It will keep up with 99% of the normal traffic and cruise all day above the speed limit (if you care to do so). Stop light to stop light racing is not what it's designed for.

You couldn't afford the GT but did you look for the Turbo Lite? it shouldn't have been more expensive than the non-turbo and has the extra 30hp.

well outfitting the n/a with a turbo is possible but you would have to keep the psi under 6 just to be safe. but then again if you're gonna spend the money to do that it would be best to just get yourself a t-lite or a gt. If not then maybe you can do a gt engine swap. but there's a lot that can come from that too. so for now, just do an air box mod, add a k&n drop in filter and get a full cat back.

Not a turbo guy, have no idea what a 'BOV' is or diff between TMIC or FMIC

Now, old Neon guys always talk about using SRT piston/rods on old 2.4 (stratus) and getting surplus SRT turbofolds.

Again, just repeating what I've heard.

Now, I've done lots w/ MegaSquirt, DON'T KNOW about NGC, guys do do it though.

Otherwise, mill the Jesus outa the head, remove headgasket shim,
if you have E-85 available, throw in larger injectors and it'll be
pretty close, stronger across entire powerband.

Blow off valve i believe helps release extra air that bounces off of a closed throttle body so that it doesn't go back to the turbo.

and what about different cam's.
or how bout this

Funny!

You can (evidently) use 2.0 cams, but few cams are 'free' in terms of power.
They add to top or bottom end, subtract from other.

My 2.0 will produce useable power up to ~7500 w/ stock cams, dead below 4000.
Not good for heavy vehicle or specifically an auto.
Perfect for light car w/ manual trans
