Red face Cannot Bypass Security - no remote

I recently had to buy a new battery for my 2002 pt cruiser - I put in the new battery and the alarm system sounds, unfortunately my remote is not working - is there any way to bypass this so I can start my car?:

You can pull the fuse #10 in the fuse box that's in your engine compartment. That fuse is for the remote keyless entry, alarm and door locks. Unfortunately it's also for the "Exterior lighting" but I'm not sure which lights. You can try it anyway and see what doesn't work.

If you not sure which is fuse #10, here's a drawing but turn it 180 degrees the way it looks. There might also be a list of what all the fuses are under the cover.

Have to ask why the remote is not working, surely a new battery there would be a good place to start? If you do this and still get no joy then try pressing the "unlock" 6 times in succession.

The IOD fuse is the #17 fuse in the picture I posted above.
