Default 2003 PT Cruiser died while driving

While I was driving down the road, my car's check engine light came on and then the car just died immediately after. It sounds like the engine is turning over, but there is no clicking sound when the key is turned. The lights inside dim when trying to start the car.

I checked for fault codes and the car came up with: P 0016, P 0522, P 0344 and P 0068.

I'm hoping that it is something I can fix at home.

Any help is extremely appreciated.

What kind of mileage do your have on your PT? Anywhere near 100K could mean that the timing belt snapped. You have to many different codes but 2 of them (P0016, P0344) are the ones you might get when the belt breaks. NO, it's not something that YOU want to try at home.

It has a little over 134k. We changed the timing belt last year, but I'm not sure how long they are supposed to last.

I forgot to add that when the car died, it didn't make a noise. It just turned off.

Belts should last for 100K so that's probably not your problem.

Two of the codes yo pulled have to do with either the Camshaft or Crankshaft sensors. Either one of them will bring the car to a halt without warning. Happened to me. Unless you just want to change both sensors (use only genuine Chrysler parts), I suggest you find someone with a scanner to pinpoint exactly what's wrong.

Well I think we found the problem. There is oil pooling in the far left plug well. I'm thinking we may need to get a new valve cover gasket, spark plugs, and wire set. The other wells seem to be dry, but that one is filled with oil.

Each spark plug hole has it's own gasket also. Change them.
