Exclamation Alternator belt help!

Hello!

I'm actually replacing the accessory and alternator belt on my 2003 Pt Cruiser 2.4L 150hp AT

I posted another topic about the AC Compressor two weeks ago (But I have to wait next month to buy one), but last week, the alternator belt broke down!

I made research, and thank's Crewzin and Candyman for your answers in other topics, because I found a lot of answers.
I looked up at the Repair Manual ( West Valley Cruisers - PT Cruiser Facts & Information ) and started doing it, but I have an issue right now

I removed the alternator's Locking nut, and turned the Adjusting bolt... but the Pivot bolt is really really and extremely hard!!!!
I used a 15mm wrench, but I don't have any room to turn it, or use my power to turn it.

I thought about removing the Pencil strut, It looks like I can have more room to turn the wrench. But is it hard to put back?
Is there any thing I have to know ?

I looked up online, but everyone says "Remove Pencil strut" but no more details... so, that's why I ask you, If I remove it... Is hard to put it back?

Hopefully someone will come along who's done the belt and can help you. My mechanic did it along with the serpentine belt when he did the timing belt.

If the pencil strut is in your way, then just remove it and put it back on when you're done.

I finally removed it... very easy
I've done replacing the alternator and accessory belt,
But the day is over, and I don't have light outside, so I didn't put the cover back, because I will do an oil change tomorrow.

But I'm wondering if I did put back the Alternator properly... I heard that if it's too tight, it can burn it... if it's not enough tight, the belt will come off and break

How can I know if it's tightened correctly ?

Hi,
Here am I, one year later, and my accessory belt broke down again.... I don't know if it's because I didn't do it correctly last time, or because of the cheap belt I ordered online for like 5$
But that's great to have this post and your help! Thank you

And I also found this link that can be helpful for other people:
