Unhappy Dead as a doornail

Hello,
I recently drove my 2005 turbo PT Cruiser 800 miles to Dallas TX. It has been really hot here over 100 every day until recently, and my registration is up on my car so I haven't driven it in about a month or so (it's renewed now). I went to get in it the other day and it is dead as a doornail, nothing comes on, no lights etc.

I hooked up a battery charger and it said it is completely charged. Also, there was some corrosion around the battery which I cleaned off and have left to dry for the night so in the morning I will try to charge the battery again. It was having some trouble with the catalytic converter before this incident. Should I worry or maybe it really is just the battery? The battery is brand new too, I just bought it like four months ago. Any suggestions?

Mandi G

Ahhh back to my old stomping grounds, I sure do miss Big D!!! Did you check all your fuses? There is one that, fi blown, is like the "master" fuse that controls everything. I can't remember which one as my '06 is completely different, maybe Crewzin or one of the others will speak up here.

By the way, drop us some photos would you please? Good looking lady, you should advertise your PT Cruiser here like the rest of us do!!!

I know what and where my fuses are, how do I check them though? I know one of them that controls the fog lights is out because my fog lights wouldn't turn off and kept running my battery down

The fogs stayed on because your Multi Function Switch is bad that is a dead give away

Id say the battery is dead maybe put the charger on it and just leve it for a few hours to see what happens

SHE LIVES! I got it working today, it was the corrosion after all. I'll check into the multi-function switch, thanks for the great advice everyone!
