How do you change rear brake pads on 2002 pt cruiser?

Is this a trick question? You change the rear disk pads the same way you do the front pads.

Are you sure they need changing. Rear pads generally last about 100,000 miles or more since 80% of the braking force is on the front pads.

I think that if only the rear squeak.
I will change the front too, although not very worn.
because I want to rectify the front discs.

Squeaking could come from a couple different places. Was anti-squeal liquid put on the back sides of the pads when they were first put on? Are the anti-rattle clips put on correctly? Is there brake dust built up in the brake area?

If the noise/squeak/squeal is from the rear and you have Drum brakes, all you have is built up brake dust. Almost all drums squeak when the brake dust builds up. Take the drum off and get rid of the dust.

I will remove the tires and perform cleanup.
but if the front brake pads will be new.

In Neon's, friction will separate from metal shoes before they wear out.
It's not fun when this occurs!!!!!!!!!!!

In OLD 'rustbelt' PT's, might be best to replace pre-emptively.
