Question Timing Belt/Water Pump Help

Hey everyone. I'm back. We are now having to replace the timing belt and replace the water pump. Would you be so kind as to send us instructions with photos like you have in the past??? So far, my husband and I have been able to fix our car on our own this past year, which helps us so much! I have MS and my meds are so expensive, so every little bit helps! We have a 2003 non-turbo Cruiser.

Thanks again for your help!! I don't know what I'd do without this forum!!

MamaCruiser:
I respect your ability to fix you can and its a lot of fun to get under the hood and turn wrenches There is a sticky in the tec section on How to a timing belt----HOWEVER I will also tell you that

1. The timing belt/Water Pump /tensioner--IS by far the HARDEST thing you will ever work on

It is a LONG job and it is a Pain there is no room
everything is in the way

I guess you do not have to have a shop but you will be taking a lot of parts and nuts and bolts off and I do mean A LOT

If I were you id read some of the threads adn maybe pm some of the guys this is a MAJOR Undertaking

I wish you all the luck in the world and send many good wishes your way

I actually cheated and took mine and had it done with the understanding that there was a SOLID warenty if the timing was as much as 1 tooth off

Good Luck

with Cruserdad 100%. About the hardest job there is to do on a Cruiser. Even mechanics have gotten it wrong and the car owner comes here for advise and 99 out of 100 are told that the timing is off and the job has to be done over.
