oil leaks

Default oil leaks

i noticed oil on one of the bolts next to my oil cap could this be from oil cap or head gasket and does anyone have a oil leak problem with thier cruisers

Just spill most likely.

If head gasket were leaking oil, it'd be in rear, where you can't see it.

...and if it was the valve cover gasket, the oil would go down, not on top of the cover. Who does your oil change. If it's one of those quick lube places, it's more likely what UptownSport has said.

Fancy, make sure you unscrew your oil cap and then screw it back on until you hear it click once. Don't over-tighten it. Then clean up the oil from the area that concerns you.

Check it again in a week.

And if you look at block, there's only one spot oil's pressurized near periphery:
(Left rear, rest are just drainback holes w/o pressure)


Early headgaskets would frequently leak there; now with MLS Headgasket, there's never oil leaks,
just coolant.

Also check the condition and color of it. If it is fair that clear clean oil (when and if someone did oil change) and if blk dirty. Leakages would be the dirty kind but also have dirt stuck to it if was old.
